Analysts unable to search on customized incident fields

We added three customizations to our incident form in SCSM 2012 R2 (UR 4)

Affected Asset Location (linked to a "location" library list)
Affected Asset Room (text field)
Affected Asset Description (text field)

Our Service Desk staff would like the ability to search on the Affected Asset Location.  Is this possible?  If so, how do we accomplish this?

    We want that too, this is also true for extensions on WorkItems. It's crazy, you are able to extend the classes but no way we can search on it :-(
    Not to mention the relationships ;-)

    Hi, I need this feature too. It makes really sense. Our support needs to know all the tickets that are open depending on Asset Location.

    This should now be possible with global search. I think this can be closed :)
