Depart from SCSM and create a ground-up Cireson ITSM tool

It seems to me that Microsoft isn't investing in SCSM and the number of customisations and workarounds required to fill the gaps is quite large. I'd like to see Cireson build the foundations of a new ITSM tool and not be limited by SCSM.

Well, that didn't take long. ;)

Makes it hard to baseline the product when it's made up of numerous scripts, custom workarounds, runbooks, etc to do what would otherwise be part of the base OOTB build Filling those gaps would make it a much easier sell, and bring it above parity with SCSM.

    On-prem or Managed Service?

For us it'd have to be on-prem.

There are still lots of things customized in SCSM console. It seems complicated to get rid of the SCSM ? We choose Cireson to have a user friendly analyst and self service portal but we are happy to have the console to make the configuration and to be able to use orchestrator for automation of process.

On-prem for us.  I think Cireson has the talent to make it happen, they've already got a portal that MS couldn't even rip off draw inspiration from correctly so that shows the amount of effort right there.

The big issue is Support, how far is a company willing to go to ensure customers remain satisfied, to offer more than false hope via empty promises and buzz words "Automation/Awww-Toowww-Maayyyy-Shhunn!"

There are many useful SCSM features, yet the sheer amount of effort to maintain it really takes it toll.
