Full hw asset history of a former employee

The request I have is that when a person leaves, it should be easy to get a list of ALL assets the user has been the custodian of during the employment. This is stored in the history of each asset separately but going through the history of thousands of assets is not an option.

The idea I have would be to set up a monitor so that when the custodian changes, the previous custodian is recorded in the asset description field and then create a view where the description is shown to make it searchable.

Are there any better ideas for this?

This sounds great. You could definitely have a runbook set up to monitor for these kinds of changes and automatically modify a field (description or a custom field maybe?) with the previous custodian.

I believe it may be possible to also use a Powershell script to retroactively perform this to check on history (though I'm not a wiz in Powershell so I'm not 100% sure this is possible)

Violate any applicable laws, rules or regulations.

Cireson has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Cireson reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. Cireson reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.

Cireson reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, rule, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in Cireson’s sole discretion.

Always use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself or your children in any Communication Service. Always use caution when giving out any information concerning your employer or customers, if any. Cireson does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and, therefore, Cireson specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service. TERMINATION/ACCESS RESTRICTION
