Slow loading of the config item list in cireson portal offering

Hi,

We recently upgraded our test env to the portal version 11.6.7

and have started experiencing slowness in the loading of the config item list in the request offerings.

In prod, we have the portal version 11.0.4, and there is not that much delay in loading the data.

(the search criteria is also same in both the env.)

To search, one needs to enter some value in the text field, and based on that value search is performed.

(as shown in the attached image.)

Need help with the possible ways to make the search faster.

Regards,

Manas

    A few things:

    1. Can you confirm the latest portal version you are on?
    2. Is there any difference between environment object count? e.g. does the test environment have 10,000 objects but prod has 1000 objects for that picker?
    3. Can you share your Query Result configuration for this control? Just trying to get a sense of how potentially complex it is.
    4. Is there a difference in Grid View cap between environments?

    Hi @Adam_Dzyacky

Thank you for lookin into this.

PFB the answers to the questions mentioned above:

    1. Can you confirm the latest portal version you are on?
      • - The Portal version is 11.6.3 (Test env)
    2. Is there any difference between environment object count? e.g. does the test environment have 10,000 objects but prod has 1000 objects for that picker?
      • - The Test env (11.6.3) has 0.7 million data while the prod env (11.0.4) has 1.2 million data
    3. Can you share your Query Result configuration for this control? Just trying to get a sense of how potentially complex it is.
      • - In one of the form there is this one criteria "Contains". and in other "Start with" (see last attached image). Its slow in both the forms.
    • Is there a difference in Grid View cap between environment
      • - No, They are both set to 500. (See attached image of Admin setting in test env)

While testing we have noticed that, for the same text entered, the test env is fetching a lot more data data while the prod is fetching only 500 data. (though GridViewRecordCap is set to 500 in both the env)

@Manas_Gautam After the update from 11.6.0 to 11.6.3 our portal seems to have slower performance in general:

Page loading takes longer, same as opening and/or update incidents and service requests :(

It's not always the case but sometimes during the day the performance seems to break down. Neither SQL, nor IIS seem to have any spikes inside the task manager whenever that happens though.

    Hi Simon,

I agree with you on this.

But we are mainly concerned with the slow loading of the config item in the portal. As it is taking more than 2 minutes to search and load the items.

As mentioned, the GridViewRecordCap of 500 seems not to be not working after the upgrade, as it is loading all the matched data rather than 500. Has any specific change been made in this
