All workflows stuck in new status and never completing (SCSM 2016)

We are finding that in SCSM 2016 (after an in-place upgrade from SCSM 2012 R2), work items are regularly getting stuck in new status.

This seems to be happening more regularly that what occurred in 2012 R2.

To get around this we have to restart all SCSM services + delete the contents of Health Service State folder.(http://www.systemcentercentral.com/scsm-2012-tip-all-workflows-stuck-in-new-status-and-never-completing-issue-and-workaround/)

I am wondering if anyone else has come across this?

For reference purposes, I have also posted this question up on the TechNet forums..

Cheers,

Adrian

I've had 2016 in my environment now for a few weeks, however I haven't noticed any workflows seizing up like you describe. I also don't have as much data or usage in there as what you would likely have.

Do you have modifications from 2012 that you've migrated into 2016?

HI @Adrian_Paech, I know that it was long ago, but could you (or someone else) advice how awoid this situation.

We get it often, espaecially when we miss purging SCO logs. Usually we try workaround from https://www.itprotoday.com/compute-engines/fix-service-requests-stuck-service-manager

    but sometimes it don;t work.
