Purging Work Items

Morning,
We have a staging environment and are about to make it production. Before we release it to the company we would like to purge all work items from the Cireson portal. We deleted all work items from within Service Manager. However, these work items continue to show in the portal. When we click on the item, the portal responds back with a message indicating the item you requested either does not exist or you do not have access to view it.

How can I purge the nonexistent work items from the Cireson portal?
