Cireson Portal HA/ Load balancing ?

Is it possible to have the Cireson portal in a HA/LB configuration to were 2 management servers will have the cache service, the IIS website and synchronizing from the same Service Management DB? If not, is this something that could be added on the future?

    Hi @David_Acevedo, you can absolutely setup HA & Load Balancing with the portal as it stands today.

    In our environment we're using a centralized load balancing appliance in the data center with a total of 9 Management Servers (one being the primary workflow server) The other 8 also have the Cireson Portal installed along with other ITSM related dashboard/reporting sites. As we were instructed by Cireson to only have the CacheBuilder running on one instance, we've followed that rule, however, the other 7 portal server have the service installed in the event one of more of the other portal servers are down and it must be "elevated" to serve the role of Primary Portal (as we call it) which simply signifies that it's a Cireson Portal Web Server that's also hosting the active Cireson CacheBuilder service. While we could likely have gotten away with a few less servers, this configuration allows us for full disaster recovery ability with the Cireson Portal as four of the portal servers are designated as primary (in our primary DC) and the others are off-site but all 8 function in the live production and share the load across the organization.

    Having the Cachbuilder service automatically start in the event the existing primary Portal server goes down can be automated using SCOrch.

    Thanks you very much Jonathan, just a quick question. When you deployed the HA portals  did you used the same Databases/SQL? 
    I have a SQL Always on 2016 HQ/DR which it has the Service Management and Analytics already installed.
