Service Catalog Layouts - How to build?

In a recent Cireson Webinar 'Tips & Tricks for Building Your IT Service Catalog' recording (

around minute 29 there are some example Service Catalog layouts. Does anyone have guidance on how to build these kind of layouts?

In both types, it looks like the user first clicks on a general question (I need something), then it drills into Requests:

Then they click a category, for example 'Employee Onboarding/Offboarding' to get to the request:

    It would be great for those that have built them to respond here so that others can get an idea of the effort involved and decide if it is a path they want to travel.
