Modifying Assets After Import

Good Morning,

I have created several hardware assets and imported them using Asset Excel. After saving the workbook and accessing it again i am unable to modify any of the entries.  I was under the impression that I would be able to use this update information such as marking the hardware asset as received and setting a received date.  

Is this functionality possible?

HI Jarrett,

With Asset Excel, you generally need to work with a fresh worksheet whenever you need to update assets. Once you have created the hardware assets and imported them, if you want to come back and update them later, you can open Asset Excel and pull down the HWA data on a fresh worksheet, and you will be able to modify the fields. No need to save the worksheet.

I discovered shortly after this post that using the search feature would allow me to make updates.  I've come across a few other items like when I change the unit cost of a line item and use the update button on the spread sheet it doesn't change the total cost in console.  Thank you for the information @Billy_Wilson

There is no link between any Purchases/Line Items and the Cost field on a HW Asset. However on the Line Item tab you will see the accumulated Line Items and their overall cost.
