Migration Steps to SCSM 2016
We're thinking about moving from SCSM 2012R2 over to SCSM 2016 later this year. Currently we're stuck on the final version of the Cireson v7 portal due to some heavy customizations that we need to test/modify before going to v8.
When we do migrate over, is it better to upgrade the portal from v7 to v8 first and then do the SCSM 2012R2 to 2016 or upgrade SCSM first and then the portal? Does it even matter?
Thanks,
Rob

Brian_Wiest Customer Super IT Monkey ✭✭✭✭✭The order of upgrading SCSM vs Cireson first is not dependent on one or the other. Upgrading SCSM from an analyst view of using the console or the portal is no different. The biggest advantage of the upgrade in the back end performance of the workflows.
I guess the only thing to watch out for is if you have the v7 offline installer for SCSM2016. If you do not have that then your going have to update the portal first so you can get the correct installer files. HTH6
