Varying Time Zones

David_HicksDavid_Hicks Customer IT Monkey ✭

Just wondering if there's a setting somewhere the might address this (I've not been able to find one)...

All of our 'time standards' are based on the Central Standard time zone. But we now have users in other time zones that aren't considering the time difference. So for example, a developer over in California might schedule a CR for 8 PM, not realizing that really means 11 PM within our standard.

<Worst case is we just have to tell folks to keep their time zone in mind.>

Since System Center stores datetimes in UTC, what I've done in the past is take advantage of the Locale/Time Zone properties of a user in SCSM. Then with runbooks choose when to leverage those properties within a process.
