Asset Management Notice Event for HW Asset Loan Return Date

Should I be looking at the Notice Event functions for AM when I want a notice for the Primary User of a HW Asset when the Loan Return Date is approaching, or should that be another type of workflow?

Morten,

You could create an individual notice event for each time you loan a HW Asset and put the expected return date in for the Notice Event Due date.

However, I assume you were looking for a single process that would monitor the Return Dates across all HWAs with Status of Loaned and trigger when applicable, in which case, you'll need a custom workflow or a runbook to deal with this.

I found a Cireson blog by Wally Mead where he explains it:

• Notice Events – these are email notifications when a contract is about to expire, providing the advanced notice to allow time to renew that contract if that is the business decision

So it looks like a NO.

Correct. They are designed to link to Contracts - Warranty, Lease and Support - and will pick up dates from there. Alternatively, you can just use them stand alone and manually enter a due date as I suggested above (but didn't really suggest as that would become a pain to manage).
