Warranty Status calculated from create date
is there a way to create the warranty end date of a hardware asset on the basis of the creation date.
For example if all laptops have a warranty of 3 years and i create the asset on 1st Jan 2017 the warranty end date should be automatically 1st Jan 2020.

If you use a Master contract, the date will be calculated from the 'Master Lease / Warranty Starts' property. Its done like this to allow you to backdate the date if you don't get round to entering the Asset on the day of purchase as you cannot choose a created date, it will be the actual date it was entered into the system.

Hi @pschaefer
If you are using a Master Warrant or Lease, the start date will initially be based on the Received date, if you want to be more specific, as the Warranty usually starts at the ship date, you can then also enter the Master Lease\Warranty start date. The start date will then shift to this date, rather than the Received Date. So you can track the date you physically received the asset along with the exact start date on the Warranty/Lease.
It has been a while. Is everything working out for the Warranties?
