The client does not exist in the Configuration Manager database

I get this when I try to connect to the client using the Remote Manage App. The client is in SCCM and all my other clients work fine. In fact, on this client the only thing not working is no information shows in Device information or in Collections but all the other tabs work.

    The app has two log outputs; one for the communication against the client and one against the provider (ConfigMgr server).
    From what I read, you cannot get information for the client from the provider. 
    Could the client by chance have an obsolete record in ConfigMgr with the same name?
