SCCM Ticker App Error - The Announcement could not be posted
I keep running into an intermittent error with the SCCM Ticker App which prevents me from creating announcements. The error I receive is "The Announcement could not be posted". Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't; however, I am always dealing with more pressing issues whenever I try to use the ticker app, so troubleshooting efforts have been minimal. We do not have a CAS, and I have tried creating announcements from my workstation as well as locally on the primary site server.

wally_mead Member Advanced IT Monkey ✭✭✭In relation to Flemming's suggestion, as a general step, you would need to get the smsprov.log from the site server at the same time as the log from the client. The smsprov.log rolls over very quickly, so try to create a message, and if it fails. then copy off the smsprov.log. If you wait too long (which could only be minutes if your site is busy with lots of admins doing stuff), the log will roll over, and maybe even the rolled over log will be gone.
I think Madison's suggestions are for the SCSM Ticker, not the Configuration Manager Ticker.5

Could you send along the smsprov.log from the time when you get the error?
This will help in troubleshooting.
Typically found in %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs
Note this log is constantly changing, and saved into smsprov.lo_ when grown to a certain size.
