IIS Errors after upgrade

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask you for a help. I have performed an upgrade to v8.1 and since then I am getting errors in the Event Viewer stating:

Kerberos Error ID 3

A Kerberos error message was received:

 on logon session DOMAIN\SCSMServicesAccount

 ...

 Error Code: 0x19 KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_REQUIRED

 Error Text: 

 File: e

 Line: d3f

 Error Data is in record data.

Can you please help me out, what is wrong?

Hi Arnie,

This is the first time I’ve heard of this error.  Not certain why it started but based on my research this shouldn't cause any issues.  Could be something unique with your environment and suggest you research further before disabling. 

FYI - Two ways that I found to disable that error

1.) On specific AD user account properties, go to the Account tab, under Account Options, check the 'Do not require Kerberos preauthentication. 

2.) You could also disable on the SSP server by setting registry key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\Kerberos\Parameters) Microsoft Support knowledge base (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/262177).

Hopefully this helps, but again research based on your environment setup.
