whats happens if a computer will be renamed with the CI?
Hi there
I have a question about the following situation:
A computer is called for example "Computer1" and also imported into Cireson Asset Management as "Computer1"-CI.
After a while, the primary user leaves company and returns "Computer1", and this computer goes back to stock for 2 months.
After that 2 months, this device will be reused and new staged with SCCM but with the name "Computer2".
What happens with the CI in Cireson Asset Management?
Due to this option, I assume that it only renames the CI, right?
What about the primary user, does it also update the primary user as soon as SCCM has recognized the new one?
I really want to avoid duplicate entries in Cireson Asset Management.
Many thanks for your help and best regards
Silas

Eric_Krasner Customer Advanced IT Monkey ✭✭✭In your scenario, you will end up with two computer CI and one HW Asset. While CAM processes will rename the HW Asset, the CI which came over from SCCM and or AD will remain as in those systems, there are two different computers, one active the other not. As to the primary user, that will be updated when the rules in SCCM update the primary user.5
