Manually sorting work items

Had someone ask me today if there was any way he could manually sort his work items based on what he deemed the most important and not by any column. I had never thought about that and told him it wasn't possible to do. I'm right, aren't I?

Not in the portal but as we live in a tech world most of the time there are other ways to do something.
He can always export to excel and play around with the row order.
Plus side gives him the option he is asking for.
Down side its a point in time data pull so he would have to reorder each day after downloading a new export.
On another note if the user is a manager I typically work with them to determine the use cases of what is more important so we can capture them with higher priority and category options so they can be sorted in the portal.
If user I typically advise they must work as directed by the management not by what they "feel/want".
