Updating

Hi
We have (had) updated our SCSM-installation from 2012R2 to 1807. The Cireson Analyst Portal was left untouched on the server so it is still the 2012-version and works just fine that way. Is it recommended to update Analyst Portal to the 2016-version in this situation and what is the required steps if so?
We are going to install Cireson Asset Management too but it isn't installed now.
