Sneak Peek: Customization Release
Apart from ongoing work with building out our SCSM Teams Integration, we're also working on our next round of features and enhancements to the Service Manager portal in what we're calling the Customization Release.
Here are just a couple of the things you can expect to see:
Global Search Enhancements
- Class Icons: Icons configured per class now are shown left of the actual class in the search filters. Now you can see what's what at a glance
- Mass Toggle: You can also turn all filters on or off when searching
Dashboards and Charts
- Calendar Widget: Now you can turn any SQL data source into your own custom calendar. Custom Asset Expiration, Change Request scheduling, Manual Activities, Incidents, or even non-Service Manger data . (How about Operations Manager Alerts or Configuration Manager update release days?). If it has a date field you can chart it!
Activity Management
- Add an Activity to: Change Request? Service Request? Incident? Yes you can.
And that's just some of the functionality you can expect to see in the Customization Release. I'll have more to share in an upcoming blog post; but if you have questions or something else on your mind let us know in the comments.

Looks good - we are just about going to release the change process and looking forward for the "must have" opportunity to add activities from the portal - really looking forward to it!! 😃
