Searching Hardware Assets window in Asset Import Excel plugin is broken

Hi Guys,

We did notice today that we have been using _ and % in the search window in the Asset Import Excel, but we continiously got to many results.

After some testing is always seems to do a "contains" anything you enter.
If I search for "BANA%" it will also return "BIBANANA", what is the use of offering wildcards if the code just ignores it.

Is there a way to solve this, some checkmark somewhere in the settings I have missed?

Great question Dennis.
I think from the silence that your question has provoked it is easy to see it's not something many people have noticed. It's nice to know users like yourself are using Asset Excel in powerful ways to manage their data.

I have just done a test in my lab and found the same thing.
There are 4 Hardware assets in my lab that contain NAS in some form or another.

NAS_DR2
NAS_PROD2
SEANAS1
SLONAS1

All of these are returned for all of the following search criteria
NAS
NAS%
NAS_
%NAS
I will pass this on to the application owner and see if this is "By Design" or not.

Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services.
Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines which may be applicable for any particular Communication Service.
Harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses, without their consent.
Violate any applicable laws, rules or regulations.

Cireson has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Cireson reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. Cireson reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.

Cireson reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, rule, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in Cireson’s sole discretion.

Always use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself or your children in any Communication Service. Always use caution when giving out any information concerning your employer or customers, if any. Cireson does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and, therefore, Cireson specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service. Materials uploaded to a Communication Service may be subject to posted limitations on usage, reproduction and/or dissemination. You are responsible for adhering to such limitations if you download the materials.

TERMINATION/ACCESS RESTRICTION

GENERAL

To the maximum extent permitted by law, this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A. and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in San Diego County, California, U.S.A. in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of the Cireson Community Web Site. Use of the Cireson Community Web Site is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including without limitation this paragraph.
