Mapping of Enumeration Lists

Today I came across a "Problem" inside the ARO Builder and the usage of Enum Lists.

Let's say we have an ARO based on an SR template and wanna use an enumeration list from a HW Asset property, e.g. Hardware Asset Type. We cannot map it with the standard Mapping, because an SR does not have this enum as property, but we can map it inside the Multiple Mapping section and the ARO can be saved.

Today we tried the same thing with a new enum property which we created inside our HW Asset Extension (HW Asset OS Type). I tried the same and although I mapped it inside the Multiple Mapping section it won't let me save it. I even tried it via saving it in draft status and publishing it afterwards, but when I try that, a Management Pack error appears.

So my question is: Does the Multiple Mapping for enumeration lists only work for OOTB Enumerations? If yes, would it be possible to add this feature so it works also for custom Enum lists?
