Updating SMTP Settings

Hi Community,

I was asked recently about where to update SMTP settings if you have changed your server / relay setup.

There's two things to consider here; SCSM and Cireson Portal. SCSM handles notifications for most Notification scenarios but the Portal has its own ability to send email for the Send Email task and @mention notifications.

To change this setting in SCSM, open the SCSM Console. Go to Administration > Notifications > Channels and edit the E-Mail Notification Channel. The SMTP Settings are in there.

To change this for the Cireson Portal login to the Cireson Portal as an Admin. Go to Admin Settings > Email Settings > SMTP Details. The SMTP settings are in there.

Watch out however, as the Cireson Portal installer remembers what you provided during install so next time you upgrade, the installer will have the original value prepopulated. Make sure you change it again here else it will be reverted to the old value after install.
