Is it possible to extend the classes in the Asset Management app?
Hi,
I thought I'd read somewhere that it's possible to extend some of the classes in the Cireson Asset Management component. But I can't find that article. Is extending / authoring supported?

Geoff_Ross Cireson Consultant O.G.Hi Tim,
Yes fully supported. You can extend in the same way as extending a Work Item class.
I have found this article very helpful.

I'm trying to use the Authoring tool to extend an Asset Management class. When I attempt to open the AM .MP file it asks for Cireson.console.licensing.mp.Authoring Cireson Asset Management Forms========================================1. Copy Cireson.AssetManagement.Forms.dll to the Authoring Toolinstallation folder "\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager Authoring\PackagesToLoad".2. Copy CiresonAssetManagement.mp to the Authoring Toolinstallation folder "\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager Authoring\Library".3. OR - copy these files to the same folder where your Management Pack .xml is saved to.4. These files must be kept up to date with each release.5. Before customising a form, ensure that the SCSM Console has previously been started and connected to a Management Serverthat is licensed for Cireson Asset Management.6

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for the response. I don't see an MP file in the app download (zip) file that I can use to extend in the Authoring Tool. Am I missing something?
Also, did you mean there to be a link to an article?
Thanks,
Tim
Oops, yes.

This method used Visual Studio by the way, not the Authoring Tool but either works.
Either way, there is an Authoring Folder in the App Download, this contains the .mp file.

Where can I obtain a copy of the Cireson.Console.Licensing.mp? It isn't in the download of the Console license app.
This is included in the "Cireson Console Licensing App" Zip found below:

Great videos explaining class extensions using Authoring Tool can be found on the Cireson learning platform - section Extensibility.
