Auto Determine Hardware Asset Type / Catalog Item Type

Is it possible to determine the Hardware Asset Type / Catalog Item Type automatically from the Manufacturer / Model information, rather than having to associate a Catalog Item Type?

Hi Ralph! Yes, this is possible via the Hardware Asset Catalog Item workflow. You can enable this workflow under the Asset Management admin settings (Administration > Settings > Cireson Asset Management Settings > Hardware Asset Catalog Item Workflow and schedule this sync to run on a regular basis. I believe the highlighted options are what you are looking for in particular:

 

As you see, you can also automatically sync other items like cost and vendor information as well. Does this help?

Thanks for the update that is exactly what we were looking for. 

We are new to SCSM and the Cireson Portal and still finding our way through all the configuration options.
