Here is my challenge.

We have something that looks like a multi-tenant deployment of SCSM / Cireson.  We have multiple business units that sometimes exchange data, but have data they can't allow other departments to see.  As such, we use Queues to isolate the departments.  This means that if you create a workitem, are not the affected user, and assign it to another department, you have no indication that it exists.  Worse, if you create a new workitem in the portal and are not the affected user, you get a nasty error message back until the group calc assigns the workitem to the queue.

Has anyone seen or heard of creating a custom user profile (ie an implied user profile based on created by user relationship?

Can you think of a reason why this would be a bad idea?
