File name length and file size for File Attachments
1) What is the maximum size for file attachment?
2) The maximum length for file name?
3) If the file name passes the maximum length, is there an auto process running behind to shorten the name to something like "message...msg" or the user has to manually chop down the file name?
Please advise. Thank you.

The file attachment settings are configured within Service manager via Administration > Settings > Incident Settings
The Portal pulls these settings and applies them, currently the portal does not shorten the name automatically.
The portal logic saves the file to the web server where the portal resides using some folder logic to compartmentalize by userid. So the folder path the file is saved to might look like: C:\inetpub\CiresonPortal\App_Data\TempFiles\db6ccee2-a5d1-40af-1ce9-264b6997e7d7\877bffe6-c346-5692-4480-46341fb5e6ed\
That path is 117 characters leaving 143 characters for the actual filename, considering the Windows limitation of that Full paths must not exceed 260 characters to maintain compatibility with Windows operating systems.
Thanks,
Carrie
