SCSM 2022 Authoring

Steffen_RakersSteffen_Rakers Customer IT Monkey ✭

Hi all,

maybe I missed it in some MS documentation, but is there currently no SCSM 2022 authoring tool? On the SCSM 2022 page, versions 1801+ and 2016 are linked and I can only find version 2019 as the latest. Of course, none of these work with SCSM 2022 management packs.

Without this tool it would be very annoying to create class extensions, forms etc. Do you guys have any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

@Steffen_Rakers It appears there is not yet a 2022 version of the authoring tool, but there has not been a lot of changes between 2019 and 2022 so I don't see any reason why the 2019 version of the tool would not work. You may need to add copies of the 2022 MP's to the working folder for it to work correctly. The 2019 version of the tool is available for download here:

@Brad_Zima Hi Brad, thanks for you reply. I've tried it that way, but it seems that not all MP are available as sealed MP in the SCSM 2022 installation folder. For example: I've created a blank MP via PowerShell (SMLets) which includes following references:

The System.Library and Microsoft.SystemCenter.Library are unknown to the Authoring Tool (version error, as expected). Searching for the required MP "Microsoft.SystemCenter.Library.mp" in the installation folder of SCSM 2022 doesn't return any result, but only a "Microsoft.SystemCenter.Library.mpb" file.
