Edit templates User permissions

Michel_CheretMichel_Cheret Member IT Monkey ✭

Hi,

Does anyone knows what usergroup (besides administrators) has access to edit templates in SCSM?
I wish to grant some users this role and some users say they do have access already, but I am unable verify it.

Thanks.

    Hi @Michel_Cheret

Authors should be able to do that.

Authors can create or edit any work items that are in their queue scope and any configuration items that are in their group scope. They may also create, edit, and delete announcements that are displayed on the Service Manager Self-Service portal. Authors can also make limited customizations that are stored in management packs. Such customizations can include creating, editing, and deleting list items, tasks, templates, views, and view folders.

Thanks Geoff, the user is already in that AD group. It still didn't work, however I have added him to the Authors group in SCSM itself and now it worked :). Thanks.

I've seen a lot of that and have never quite understood it but adding directly to the role always gets it done. Glad you are sorted.
