Is it possible to disable the check that the portal is currently doing into Teams?

We have a workaround in place for a performance issue of late in the portal due (we believe) to the portal checking into Teams.

Our service catalog load times are usually about .5 to .75 seconds across all servers in our web farm. Once users start logging in these load times increase significantly- to anywhere from 5 - 20 seconds.

My understanding is that we get an error when trying to delete the Teams integration settings via the Admin settings in the portal UI.
