Configuring a PowerShell Profile for SCSM
Of everything I covered in Definitive Service Manager PowerShell, the one thing I didn't address was how useful having a PowerShell profile is. In short - you use PowerShell to define how PowerShell should start. If you're already using PowerShell profiles, then you know all you have to do is use: notepad $profile But if… -
Re: Add Logic check from Work Items not stored in the Cireson database
At four votes on an FR that is getting pushed to the dark, forgotten realms of the site with almost alarming quickness, I am not sure it is worth asking to have these merged but I do want to add a reference to a very similar FR I created that is more focused on answering the part of Brian's FR that I quoted above. The… -
Re: How much time does Queues take to apply to work items in your environment?
How many working items are getting created per minute? How many changes are getting committed per minute?Do you have SQL Service Broker for ALL databases in the farm? What Version of SCSM, SQL etc are you at? Here is a query I have that shows all the workflows and how far behind. They queues might be "hold up" by another… -
Re: Create SRs in bulk from an Excel file
In my experience the blog that @Roland_Kind shares functionally works, it has a flaw that you will find other posts about. The flaw is the SMLets when applying a template that contains the activities the activities will not go to in-progress, they all just sit at pending. Also the Activities are missing their assigned… -
Re: Work Assignment--do not assign things to me while I am away
Some of the cheapest/"worst" ticketing solutions like those "help desk only" ticketing apps have this, while some of the bigger, more established ones do not have this, or have poorly implemented it. Yet I think we can all agree that anything to prevent unattended requests would be good. There are some 3rd party tools out… -
Re: Database Blocking Issue - dbo.p_Entity ChangeLog Snapshot;1
I made a program called Advanced History Groomer to attempt to combat the sheer amount of history that builds up within SCSM to purge history records no one cares about! Obviously this is more of a preventative tool than a fix after the database is too full to run grooming jobs within the timespan it has. SCSM was never… -

Re: Has anyone had any luck getting the UpdateWatchlistByWorkItemId API to work?
I have started playing with the Cireson API myself and it appears UpdateWatchlistByWorkItemId does not work at all. I also in IIS > Sites > CiresonPortal > Authentication > Enabled Anonymous Authentication since we use Windows Authentication through the Portal. First of all, Cireson should make this a POST Method as this… -
Re: Change Request Primary Owner
Ah, I had assumed you already had your type projection created and configured for the form by following the guide Brett mentioned above. I didn't think that because your ChangeRequest.js file didn't contain a custom Form Definition, you probably didn't have "Assign Forms to Active Directory Groups" filled out with a custom… -
Re: Portal performance tuning
I would like to see some portal tuning suggestions here, too. File compression, etc.? What about reducing the number of all those loadScript calls that many of us have in our customizations? There is much I still have to learn here and I am looking forward to other responses. But I definitely had some thoughts come to mind…
