IT depends. What is your motivation? Security or process? You could ask some custom JavaScript to stop Analyst access on a particular Portal instance but being client side scripting it wouldn't be 100% foolproof.
If you are happy for Analysts to log in but not be able to perform Analysts tasks you could not add your Analyst Portal licence to the external facing server.
Any of these ideas any good?6

It does, depending on your network topology - ideally you would just install the portal on a VM in your Front end zone / DMZ with forms authentication that points at your backend SQL and SCSM Management Servers with the appropriate firewall rules.
Just make sure you are only running the cache builder on your internal zone and have it disabled \ not installed on the front end.
