@mentions

Has anyone ever discussed or expressed the need to put @mentions functionality on the Request Offering form?

Had the question come across my desk today, the business need is the user wants an easy way to notify others of the request without having to wait for the ticket to get created.

Thoughts? How difficult is it to enable @mentions on any field/form?

Thanks for any thoughts/feedback.

    I could see this going a few different ways, but this feels like a job for Notification Activity. In which case:

    • You'd need to introduce a Query Picker on your Request Offering
    • That Query Picker would target Users
    • The Query Picker would be Optional

    In the Template that backs the Request Offering, the very first step in the process would be a Notification Activity that grabs the users from the relationship you saved them on and then notifies them.

    This makes the process dynamic, lets someone pick who they want to notify, gets a Work Item created so the Notification has something to reference, and by placing it first in the Activity flow - ensures it happens asap.
